Scott and Vern in 1994

Scott and I started flying rockets together in 1994.  This page is a collection of photos from back in those early days when we considered a "G" motor to be a big motor.

Aertech HV Arcas rocket on the pad

The Aerotech HV ARCAS was the first rocket I built that could fly on a "G" motor.

Scott with the first high power rocket that he built.  It's a Binder Design "Thug".  Scott flew it on G40 single use motors back then.

Are we having fun yet?   J

Scott is connecting the Aerotech clip to a copper head igniter. The sheer concentration of these two rocket scientists is most impressive! (Of course over the years we have also learned to simply discard all copper head igniters and use a "real" igniter!)

SpudRoc-1 rocket with a potato as a nose cone. SpudRoc-1 rocket in the tower launcher SpudRoc-1 rocket launched on a G64 motor

SpudRoc-1 is a small rocket with a G64 motor that I flew at the Tripoli Idaho SpudRoc-1 launch event in Oct. 1996.  This rocket has since flown at most all of the Idaho SpudRoc events.  Yes, that's a real Idaho potato for the nose cone.
